The Faculty of Science is looking for a pro-active and self-motivated individual to take a leading role in managing the activities of the Faculty.

This is a hugely varied and interesting role which encompasses a wide range of different tasks from supporting senior members of the Faculty staff in the execution of their duties including diary management and meeting organisation, servicing a number of Faculty committees, collating data, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and working on a variety of projects simultaneously in a busy working environment.

To make a success of this post you will be a good team player who also enjoys working independently and taking initiative. You will have excellent administrative abilities and problem-solving skills, including experience of supporting committees and capacity to manage a varied workload whilst meeting strict deadlines. You will be highly organised, confident dealing with data, with great attention to detail. You will have excellent spoken and written English with the ability to write clearly and concisely, and will be proficient in using IT.

You will be able to use your knowledge and initiative to manage and prioritise effectively the requirements of the role. Effective and professional liaison with internal and external contacts is an integral part of the role and so a need for tact and discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.

Previous experience within the HE sector is desirable but not essential. Skills in the use of University specific software (Moodle, SAMIS, Agresso and Business Objects) will be an added advantage. However, an interest in our work and a willingness to become fully involved in the life of the Faculty is equally important.

This is a full-time, fixed term (15 months) role although applicants seeking a 0.8fte (29.2 hours per week) position are encouraged to apply. We offer a hybrid working arrangement with the option of working from home for part of the week.

Digital Content Manager (AP13069)

VR��Ƶ the role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the planning, creation and delivery of digital content and media to support the Faculty of Science’s wide-ranging marketing and research activities. You'll join the Faculty Marketing and Web Team and play a key role in managing our digital presence to external and internal stakeholders.

Using your knowledge of content and user design experience, you'll work closely with colleagues in the Faculty and across the University to create appropriate content that meets specific user needs. You'll continually review and optimise content to improve performance, using the University's bespoke publishing platform, built and developed in-house. You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Marketing and our digital agency, to manage the operational delivery of the digital marketing campaigns.

You'll have a proven track record of:

Writing for the web with the ability to produce appropriate content and advise Faculty colleagues on best practice techniques.
Knowledge of sourcing and/or creating other types of content (e.g. images, video, audio, animation) and using these to deliver effective content and campaigns.
Developing and managing content across multiple digital platforms using a CMS.
An understanding of web usability and inclusive design requirements.
Implementing web tracking tools and creating dashboards to monitor user activity across our website. Use insights from this data to inform and optimise digital marketing activity.

You must be able to communicate effectively and confidently to develop good working relationships. You should have excellent organisational skills, be a good team player and be able to successfully manage your workload, as well as stakeholder expectations.
