We are exploring how industry can dramatically reduce its greenhouse gases emissions by 2050, so helping the UK to meet its net-zero target.
Budget
£550,000
Project status
Complete
Duration
1 Apr 2019 to 4 Oct 2024
In collaboration with the University of Leeds, we are leading UKERC research on Industrial Decarbonisation.
A whole-systems approach
Going beyond the major energy intensive sectors we are exploring how the availability of future infrastructure – such as hydrogen networks or carbon dioxide pipelines – could impact the cost of emissions reduction pathways for key industrial sectors.
By 2050 the UK aims to meet its net-zero target for greenhouse gas emissions. Through our research, we hope to help industry reach this target.
