Winter Holiday Switch Off

Switch off your non-essential equipment and lights this winter break and help tackle the climate crisis and save money.

It is our collective responsibility to take action in response to the climate emergency. Reducing energy consumption through switching off non-essential electricals and lights across campus is a shared opportunity where we can make a real, positive impact. This simple step can save the University up to 拢13,000 over the 9-day closure.

Discover simple tips and resources to make switching off and saving energy easier this winter break. Share a pledge on how you will save energy this break and be in the chance of winning a 拢20 Bath Gift Voucher (one for students and one for staff).

Staff

  • Let people know you are switching off by using the email badge and template

Energy saving is for life not just for Christmas

Continue saving energy in your work, home or study space.


For all

Take simple steps that will help your wallet and the environment:

  • only heat the space you need and layer up
  • make the most of natural light and keep your lights off
  • coordinate using appliances such as the oven and washing machine
  • always use lids on your pans when cooking, or try food such as pasta
