Student sport

If you study at Bath, you can take part in a wide range of sports whatever your level or ability. You could join a club to keep fit and meet people, take part in inter-halls competitions, or be selected to represent the University.


The SU Bath, our students' union, has over 40 sports clubs that students can join.

Sport and fitness facilities

Our Sports Training Village is the centre of sports on campus. You can access the gym, book fitness classes and take part in sport, whether you're a student, member of staff or member of the public.


The pass is included in tuition fees for VR³ÉÈËÊÓƵ students, providing free access to many sports facilities on campus.

The Sports Training Village is open to students, staff and the public seven days a week, offering something for everyone - check out the facilities you can use.

The Team Bath Gym & Fitness Centre has three gym zones, two studios and hosts dozens of exercise classes each week

The inspirational fitness space, open seven days a week at the heart of the VR³ÉÈËÊÓƵ campus, underwent an £450,000 upgrade in the summer of 2024.

Working with elite athletes

Top-level athletes and sports teams use our facilities and train with our staff. Read about their experiences of Team Bath and the Sports Training Village.


The duo, who train at the VR³ÉÈËÊÓƵ on the UK's only outdoor push-start track, ranked first and second overall in the IBSF World Cup men's standings.

Billy Sela, Kepu Tuipulotu, Charlie Griffin, Aiden Ainsworth-Cave (all England), Enoch Opoku Gyamfi (Italy) and Jack Woods (Wales) will contest the tournament.

The defensive mid-courter is the 10th VR³ÉÈËÊÓƵ student-athlete selected for an exciting young squad that will contest the inaugural season.

Team GB's first male artistic swimmer and England netball and rugby age-group internationals are also among the new intake of high-performing student-athletes

Supported by Team Bath partners Rengen, the programme provides more than 160 VR³ÉÈËÊÓƵ student-athletes across 25 different sports with bespoke support

The SwordSeatâ„¢ – a simple slot-together design which can be built using around £150 of plywood - received its official launch at the VR³ÉÈËÊÓƵ.
